Scrimpy geek alert

It's been 2 weeks since school began and I finally finished gathering my year's books.
Looking at them might give you a shiver, but THAT plus the idea of ME having to read page by page of these giants is just AWFUL. Anyways, there's not a doubt that books are investments in med school. However, they all just cost too much, that the sum of money send another child to med school for a semester too! So, I did not make my parents indulge unto such fools crap. Instead, I've made ways such are borrowing from a senior, and making my aunt borrow the other books (she has unlimited access to a local library, yay for me!). That leaves me with only 2 books to spend for. Quite the savings eh?

And I bet you know how a every girl spends money well earned.

*GRIN.

Basics

Remember this post when I thought I'd never get to see the beach at this time of the year? well, apparently I was wrong. It turns out it need be mother's day for that to happen. :) The getaway was sort of an impulsive decision by my mom's. She woke everyone up at 6 this morning telling us to get ready. Sucks that I couldn't complain, its her day after all.

Unlike most beach lovers, I do not like showing off too much skin. I do not even fancy the idea of swimming under the extreme apollo shinning over me. So, I feel that no right whatsoever to wear skimpy suits. This was what's for me instead - the beach basics. Laid back, comfortable, and casual. I wouldn't ask for more.

sunnies: Ray ban wayfarer
white shirt: bought from korea (needless to say)
belt: my dad's, had to punch a couple of holes to make it my size though, haha!
shorts: Old navy
bag: FYH (follow your heart), my beau's birthday gift

Actually, the day turned out to be pretty great. My ma got some time to unwind & escape much paper work left at home. With me, my brother, and my dad by her side, I think she had all the love she can consume for the day.

Hope your moms had a wonderful time with your families too!

Birthdays: Creating keepsakes

Its been quite some time since I attended a children's party until I was rekindled with the experience of being in one, at my niece's 5th. I must say, as much as I thought that kids and their pleasures nowadays are way different from my generation, there really isn't much of a change when you try to discern closely. They still love the treats I used to love when I was their age - spaghetti, ice cream, & cake. They'd still run around every place and corner chasing their buddies like the world is theirs. Still line up, even fight over getting as much party favors as their tiny hands could handle. More interestingly, they's still wreck their moms' purses to win the ever classic 'bring me' game.  Media and technology might be rapidly evolving, but kids will be kids, and I hope they'd remain to be such, at least for quite a long time. I mean, I don't want to grow old too fast do I? haha

A party for the kids, and the kids at heart (including me). Here are some instagrammed photos from last Tuesday. Everything is just so pretty don't you think?

my niece's avengers-themed cake. my iron man isn't around! :( hmpf!

finger treats! omnomnom

Did I just say 'children's party'? My apologies. :)))

*Sigh... makes me wish to be 5 all over again...

When was your last time to attend playful occasions like these?

Last summer blow

I know its only May, but tomorrow's gon' be the first day of class for my third year at med school so my summer fun's cut short. Cra* yes, this means i'm saying hello, yet again to my school uniform with this really warm weather. As a memoir, I am posting these shots from a 'we're walking on sunshine' themed shoot I and my friends made for fun during the break... :)

Using the mirror effect again. (see, I recently learned how to do it on
photoshop and i'm kinda obsessed of it currently, sorry..) *grin

Eye Candy

Blazer: cousin's gift
 dress: Lime Berri
tights: Gaisano dept. store
shoes: TOMS

It was my first time to do this type of layering, prolly because the weather in my country doesn't allow me to do so.
During this time in SK, it was really chilly, so had quite  a good excuse. :))
The dress is the piece that I like best about this outfit basically because of the colors that pop and look good
on photos, even at night, when lighting's quite poor. The shoes come in second fave since I'm really all about comfort, and TOMS
shoes never fail to give me that. What do you think of the look?:)

Better Late than Never ;p

Browsed through some  of my desktop photos this morning and saw these outfit shots from the Republiq event last month. Totally forgot to make a post about it, so here it is. We only had 4 hours when we decided to go so I  pulled out the safest outfit I could get from the wardrobe. Simple though, but I'm glad on how it turned out.

Catching up

Break from school isn't complete until I get to see all missed episodes of my favorite TV series. The more they pile up, the better, all the more will I look forward to a day like this, when I have all the time to get glued to the couch, pop open some cheetos, and lay my eyes to only I sight - the lcd. Here are 5 of my current TV show faves:

New Girl

The Big Bang Theory tv show photo

If you're looking for a laugh trip and a whole lot of crazy sarcasm, then the first 4 series should satisfy you big time!
Fashion pieces could also really be good with New Girl although nothing beats Gossip Girl (which I also watch too, together a few others: The Vampire diaries & the Walking dead) with that. A must try among these would be the last- Once Upon A Time. It takes on a fascinating twist of tying up our childhood fairy tales which makes it a cunning and exciting show to anticipate for such good episodes.

Oh! And since Im up to date with the newest episodes of these series, which means that I have to wait week by week for something to watch again (which really sucks) I am deciding to try out these new series:

I am hoping that these wouldn't be bummers. :) Would you like to recommend s'more?

Month's diary: Sauntering

April's almost over which means that my junior year in med school is fast approaching. Still thinking, did I ever use my month long vacation wisely? For one, as you already know, I have been to a 2 day stay at Gensan for my aunt's 60th. The days after I arrived went on a routine because I kinda had some schedule. Waking up at 9, out for lunch at 11, strolling wherever from that till about 9 then back home, and sleeping thereafter. Haven't got the chance to go by the beach which isn't a problem because I am not a fan of the sun, salty water, and the sand.:)) Here are some of the shots I got while I've been out. They basically condense the idea of the things I've been into recently.

what I wore during the bus ride to GS || krua thai interior
korean chocolates || spicy spare ribs & bagoong rice (omnomnom!) || banana cue|| my failed attempt to a panna cotta recipe
my aunt's home interior
my daily company <3 || helping out my cousin whose starting her online shoppe || neaving || dog love

Aside from these, I also went back to playing counter strike, battle realms, and learned DOTA on those few days when we chose to stay home. I was also introduced to top gear & mythbusters by no other than my man. :) twas really fun!

So, being away from the scorching heat and not being able to wear those all bearing bikinis, doesn't really mean I lost all the summer fun. On the contrary, I had all the relaxing time with my loved ones and I can say that I am really for another brain wrecking ride at school (though.. uhm. I am not necessarily ecstatic about this) this May.

Hope you had a wonderful April too!:)

Early Dinner

Its been 2 weeks since my last post since I had been out all the time with a loved one who came for to stay in the city for a month. Always came home tired, so. Anyways, he's going home tonight, and this is what we had for dinner at 4 pm (actually, twas supposed to be a snack but we got stuffed to get another meal). Not a big fan of sushi and Japanese food myself, but I'd say the food we had was tasty and affordable. To learn more about this food destination, you can check the location, menu, and rates here.

From my mobile window

I have always loved long road trips.
More importantly, I love riding on a bus.

 Here are the reasons why:

1.  Other passengers sleep, I don't. Hence, its a peaceful time to think, rest, and sight see.
2. There's always a noticeable transition of what people do at different places at about the same time of the day.
3. It makes me feel tall from seeing many things at a distance. (with cars, I only see the road, and it drifts me to sleep right then and there...)
4. My mom's 'interesting' and bountiful choice of trip snacks.

These pictures are ones taken from my recent trip to Gensan for my aunt's 60th birthday. Its a 4-hour ride(yes, managed to stay up all the way). Just sharing a breath of fresh air as the road to the destined city is through the province --thick forests, green grass, animals, and people at their simplest lives.

my mom's bag charm.

our travel packs.

workers rappelling down the steep slope. I think their trying to fix the area to prevent a landslide? - i THINK. :))

reminded me of freshly cooked bibingka we bought along the road back on trips when I was really young.

 welcome.

I dream to learn how to ride one someday.

this picture reperesents one of the hundred similar scenes I saw throughout the trip. Men having some refreshments on stores and women doing chores. Both, also watching tv at the same time. :)

One of the other trip sleepers. Doesn't he know what he's missing? Unless, he's dreaming of something fancy. :))
