Bring the Beat Back

See today, I was too busy keeping myself from being busy with school stuff. Yeah, that’s what you get from getting into the life of becoming a doctor. I am still on my second year, heading to the third yet, I could already feel my guts turning all around with the sight of big tomes! So, I try not to study whenever possible... *sigh.

Anyways, I started singing my lungs out with the old karaoke CDs my parents got when we had our new player. Warmed up with Celine Dion’s bests, next came Mariah’s, and then to Whitney. Whew! You could just imagine how much twinge it caused my larynx.   But hell, it felt good belting out, I guess many of us try that once in awhile right? :D

And then when I was trying to find some more, I came across with this odd CD. Right then did I realized that it was one of the many I’ve burned back when I was 16, which by the way was 6 years ago! Up and about, I baked it in the player, hit play, and so it goes...

The moment I heard the first beat, my heart went giddy. Memoirs of my highschool started gushing into my conscious. You know how the saying goes about how nothing beats highschool life right? It might be untrue for some of us especially with the bullies and mean guys hanging around. However for me, I’d never think twice in going back to relive every single moment of it. See, it was the time when I got lots of good friends whom I still hang out with up to now. It was when my academics was at its peak without even worrying a single bit. And, it was when I fell in love for the very first time, with my boyfriend, whom by the way is still happily with me up to now. <3 It was my renaissance.

Judging from the absence of slow songs, would have guessed that I’m a bass junkie from way back... up to now even, I proudly must say. I love to dance to the beat, I tap my feet to songs from the very first boom that rolls. Looking at the song list makes me laugh seeing how immature I was back then. But I was glad to come across them again. I even downloaded them and made a playlist for my iPod. They made me feel young and carefree once more. It was perfectly what i needed, specially now... 

I’m sure a lot of things remind us of our happy past from time to time. They may be gloomy, distressing, hurtful, blissful, or plainly stupid. But these remind us of how we lived life to realise who we are today. I do hope this post reminded you of yours too!
